No life, but this is my life

My life has been consumed by the pasison that is AR. I practically eat, drink, breathe, and live AR every moment o my life now. Diversions range from driving lessons, to reading old books, to makan marathons, to karaoke. But that's about it. Everything else: the social climbing / kayaking / biking get-togethers, the whitewater holiday, the journalistic scrounging and digging, the e-mails and phone calls flying all over the shop - are all geared towards THE PASSION. I get the real sense that i'm living it... wooo!!! The emotional attachment is certainly right up there... a hefty investment in time, money, and effort. The only thing greater than that is having a bunch of like-minded nutters to do these things together with!

Of course, money is always the problem to sustaining the passion, so to work i must go. There have been a number of opportunities... just gotta speak to the right people, man. Action Asia is on for now, but i'm eyeing Men's Health, Sports Mag, plus i'm wondering whether Sports Inc. is still ALIVE or not... hmm, better give them a ring in the morning.

Oh yes, don't give me your Zouk Out crap... give me a day (and a night, if you like) spent in THE REAL OUTDOORS. Don't drag me to Orchard Road, let me run through a real orchard, or at least a plantation. Mr Lien, i empathise with your aversion to crowds.

Sorry, my university friends, your lifestyle is not the lifestyle i intend to lead. Yours is the realm of classy coffee shops, air-conditioning, shopping malls, clubs, late nights raging and long stretches spent plonked in front of computers.

I don't get your point, but maybe you don't get my point either.

Mine is the realm of backwater rural areas, all-weather conditions, endless skies and boundless seas, sequenced training sessions and mucking around, having fun in what Mother Nature can offer little old me.

No, Kangwei, i don't believe that our social obligations are superficial. I do agree that common interest is the basis upon which all interaction may be based, and from which real, true, solid friendships develop. Everything has meaning, even the supposedly superficial interactions. Just know this: some people dream big, where many others dream small, or not at all.
